Our weekend started on Thursday night after swim lessons were all done! At least that is when Pie Pie, Gage and I left with one of their aunts to go to Minneapolis. We stopped in Saux Centre Thursday night because that's where their dad was working! Pie Pie was so sore by the time we got there but she fell asleep with in an hour with a little medicine and an ice pack.. Once she was asleep everyone else was able to fall asleep rather quickly!
On Friday morning Pie, Gage and I went down and had some continental breakfast then went swimming for a few hours! A group of older women came in to do there morning water aerobics routine and they all kept telling me what wonderful children I had. They also couldn't get over how good Pie could swim all by herself! (We had forgotten her bubble in the car) After realizing the time, the kids and I ran to the room, showered and packed up all our stuff to head to Monticello. Once we got there we dropped our stuff in the hotel room and then headed to the Mall of America. We started off by getting something to eat then shopping to pass the time before we got to see my niece. The kids were bummed that we didn't take them on rides this time but Pie loved the Disney store and Gage liked looking at all the sports and video game stores! Around 6 we met up with my niece and her mom at the MOA and went and eat at Chipotle.
We then headed down to Sea Life. It was a wonderful place! The kids loved seeing the fish swimming all around them and all the different types! I loved the jelly fish room and the way they had it set up.
Once we finished at Sea Life we told my neice good-bye and headed back to the hotel for another long swim with the kids! This time I remembered Pie's bubble for swimming so she was able to swim much further without my help! However, she still liked to take it off so she could jump into the pool and touch the bottom! After swimming we decided it was time for bed! We all slept pretty good but Pie was a little restless.
Saturday morning was full of swimming too! Once that was out of our systems we went for pizza and my neice and her mom met us there! We talked for awhile then headed to the outlet mall in Albertville. Gage and Jesse were only up for shopping a little bit so they ended up back at the hotel a lot earlier then Pie, my neice, her mom and I! We shopped for hours and found lots of really cute clothes! We finished up shopping and headed back to Monticello. We found Jesse sleeping so we took Gage and went to an arcade and resterant for supper. It was fun for all!
After that my neice, Gage, Pie and I headed back to the hotel for a fun little sleepover! We went swimming, ate cookies, and watched the movie HOP. Well some of the movie!! We ended up falling alseep watching it!
On Sunday we knew our weekend was running out of time so we wanted to make the most of it! We went to the Sculpture Garden and the Como zoo. Both were free and great fun! We ended our time with my neice in Edina at a cute little burger place I fell in love with the last time I was in the cities!
We then parted ways and we headed back to the hotel for MORE swimming! After we were done we showered and the kids went to bed while I packed up our stuff to start heading home the next morning... I then fell asleep too!
The last day... Monday... we spent this eating breakfast at I Hop and putting our stuff in the car. It was sad leaving but it was also very exciting to be going home! The wind was insane so I drove straight through with only one stop for gas. When we got back home we dropped our stuff at home and headed out to get my dogs. One the way home we stopped for Mcd's. At home we watched tv and ate! If the storm wouldn't have gotten so bright and loud the kids would have fallen asleep after eating but instead they were both up tell almost midnight! Today Gage woke up easly but Pie was a pill to get up!
Gage is excited to show off the journal he wrote and all the brochures of the places we saw and pictures of his neice at school today. Pie is now enjoying watching her movie and laying around! Hope the energy level picks up a bit before the swimming test today!
